II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Service Provider shall aim to help Supported Persons towards positive and 'offence free'
independent living in the community. The Service Provider shall work in partnership with Aberdeen
City Health and Social Care Partnership Criminal Justice Social Work service, Aberdeen City Council,
NHS Grampian, Housing Providers, Police Scotland, Scottish Prison Service and other agencies to
support, and in exceptional circumstances monitor, individuals in the community. It is expected that
the Service Provider will participate in the MAPPA process as required.
Levels of support will vary depending on individual needs and risk levels but will initially be a minimum
of one weekly session once in the community. For those with more intensive needs the Service
Provider will provide contact during custody if appropriate and will be an integral part of the risk
management and contingency plan in preparation for release. Support is designed to enable
Supported Persons to develop skills for independent living; such as: domestic skills, budgeting,
literacy, and numeracy, accessing further education or employment and social skills.
