II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The highways maintenance works will encompass various aspects of maintenance, repair and installation, including but not limited to:
• 24/7/365 Emergency response to incidents on the highway
• Reactive highway maintenance, including but not limited to, the following assets: carriageways, footways, drainage, structures, street furniture, signs, road markings, guardrail and Vehicle Restraint Systems (VRS)
• Planned/cyclical highway maintenance, including but not limited to, the following assets: carriageways, footways, drainage, structures, street furniture, signs, road markings, guardrail and VRS
• Preventative highway maintenance, including but not limited to, the following assets: carriageways, footways, drainage, structures, street furniture, signs, road markings, guardrail and VRS
• Repairs to, and installation of, highway assets including but not limited to, the following: carriageways, footways, drainage, structures, street furniture, signs, road markings, guardrail and VRS
• Small capital schemes
• Other associated works deemed necessary by the Authority

The procurement process for these works will be conducted in accordance with a restricted procedure. The anticipated procurement timeline and key milestones are as follows:
Publication of Contract Notice, call for competition (selection stage): 5th March 2024
Issue of Tender Documents (invitation to tender stage): 15th April 2024
Deadline for Submission of Tenders: 7th June 2024
Contract Award: 25th October 2024
Contract Commencement: 1st April 2025
This contract will not be divided into lots, however two contracts (one for the North of the city and one for the South) are anticipated to be awarded on a ranked basis. Full detail on award procedures will be available in the tender documents.
This PIN does not constitute a commitment by the Authority to undertake the procurement process or award a contract. The Authority reserves the right to modify or cancel this procurement process at any stage without liability to potential suppliers or contractors.
