Abstract

Hywel Dda Health Board ("HDUHB") has awarded a contract for the provision of a medical device detection and behaviour analysis solution to be implemented across the Health Board. This contract will enable HDUHB to have access to full and comprehensive visibility, in real time, of all medical devices connected to their network. The implementation of this solution will support the delivery of digital transformational outcomes by facilitating increased levels of situational awareness and improved risk management. Additionally, this technology will assist with optimised asset use across the Health Board and develop operational and commercial efficiencies. This solution is seen as vital for HDUHB given the expansion over the past 10 years in unmanaged medical and internet of things (IoT) devices within the health sector. The NHS Shared Business Services ("SBS") Digital Workplace Solutions framework agreement (SBS/19/AB/WAB/9411) is compliant with UK/EU procurement legislation. This framework includes several potential providers who have achieved inclusion on the framework following a qualification process and procurement approached the three suppliers with links to the Welsh economy.
