Abstract
The Trade Development, Foodservice and UKGI Programmes forms part of a comprehensive suite of initiatives led by the Welsh Government to deliver on its Vision for the food and drink industry from 2021 to become more productive, profitable, and competitive.
The programme offers tailored guidance, mentoring, and strategic support to help Welsh food and drink businesses scale up and access new routes to market. It supports businesses in securing listings with:
Retail multiples
Independent retailers
Wholesalers
Foodservice and hospitality operators
To deliver the outcomes of the Retail and Foodservice Action Plan, the successful contractor will be expected to collaborate closely with complementary programmes within the Food Division, including:
Enterprise for Success (Cywain)
Skills for Success
Food and Drink Clusters
Market Insight
Helix and Food Technology Centres
Scale-Up and Investor Ready Programmes
Full alignment and integration with these initiatives is essential to ensure a joined-up, impactful approach across the sector.
