Kent County Council is publishing this Preliminary Market Engagement Notice to invite organisations and individuals interested in attending a prospective engagement event regarding the development of Kents Support Service for People Bereaved by Suicide and Suicide Prevention Training Workshops. The Support Service for People Bereaved by Suicide will provide support to individuals living and Kent and Medway, specifically targeting: •Close family members of the individual who died •Friends, colleagues, witness and other people affected by a suicide •People who are working to support, or who are spending time with, people bereaved by suicide The Support Service for People Bereaved by Suicide will provide emotional support and practical support to these individuals, assisting with matters such as dealing with police, coroners and inquests. The Suicide Prevention Training Workshops will provide training to individuals in Kent and Medway who have an interest in suicide prevention. The service aims to •Improve awareness of suicide prevention issues and techniques •Improve confidence and knowledge of how to speak to someone who may be at risk of suicide and signpost appropriately •Improve awareness of the available service in Kent and Medway This event will outline the requirements of Kent County Council for the Support Service for People Bereaved by Suicide and the Suicide Prevention Training Workshops and seek stakeholder input on the feasibility and design of these services. An engagement event is scheduled for: VIRTUAL Wednesday 11th March 2026 at 10:00am - 12:00pm
