DEVELOPMENT
• On board with the current design team and client to review existing designs and come up to speed with the project. This will include workshops with key stakeholders at Amgueddfa Cymru and the project’s specialist design teams to develop the design. Allow up to 5 days total.
• Attend in-person, on-site workshops with design team and Amgueddfa Cymru to understand requirements across all areas of the project (allow a minimum of 5 days plus all on-costs, subsistence and travel).
DESIGN
• Provide a detailed Audio-Visual Design to RIBA 4 covering the full site following on from the work already done within RIBA 0-4 by the project design team including Stantec (MEP) Rural Office (Architect) and Lateral North (Exhibition Design).
• A clear timetable and programme of works for each design stage will be provided by the consultant, with key milestones for Amgueddfa Cymru and the design team to sign off for each stage. This will be developed to integrate with – and in response to – the contractors programme REVC, which is provided with this specification.
• Along with the design, a planned maintenance schedule should be provided outlining use life of equipment and parts, recommended sources and suppliers for replacement, key milestones where significant maintenance or servicing will be required.
IMPLEMENTATION
• Following the production of a detailed design the Audio-Visual designer should price for a minimum of 5 days of ongoing support to ensure that the implementation of the scheme is to design and standard, liaising closely with the project team on the ground and the lead contractor.
REQUIREMENTS
• Any Audio-Visual systems and solutions need to be sympathetic to the historic buildings, and current design, implemented in such a way that abortive cost and redesign is minimised.
• Any Audio-Visual system must integrate with a complement the lighting treatment across the site, ensuring that the lighting scheme – in particular for its historic spaces – is not in competition with any projection or other AV installation.
•AV solutions must work within the scope and specification of the building infrastructure.
• Any designed solution needs be driven by the end user’s needs with a strong focus on simple accessible solutions for our visitors and Amgueddfa Cymru staff.
• Any new Audio-Visual infrastructure and equipment shall be easily maintained by primarily internal technical staff and via limited managed service agreements where appropriate.
• All equipment and components shall be readily available to replace or repair when required, with a strong preference for hardware or which does not rely on proprietary software or drivers.
• The new audio-visual design needs to be designed ensuring the Health & Safety of Amgueddfa Cymru’s visitors and staff is maintained in both operation and during servicing.
