Hospital Based Detoxification Services - DN806761
In the view of the contracting authority the award was urgent, because:
• There was an urgent need to find a medically managed detoxification bed for a client.
• This was the only provider that could meet the client needs in the timeframe required.
We therefore agreed the need for an Urgent Award with Poole Hospital for a 14-day detoxification.
This service is a medically managed detoxification placement for 14 nights and falls under the following CPV Code: 85110000 3 - Hospital and related services.
The total contract value is £7280 excluding VAT.
The contract for Hospital Based Detoxification Services was fully signed by 5th January 2026, but this was in preparation for the 14-night stay when there was availability.
The individual entered on 5th February 2026 for 14 nights, to end 18th February 2026.
Reasons why regulation 14 applied:
• This award needed to be made urgently due to the clients rapidly declining health.
• This was not foreseeable by and not attributable to Dorset Council or the local drug and alcohol treatment service, and
• Delaying the award of the contract would be likely to pose a risk to client.
