Abstract

The works will involve a full refurbishment and reconfiguration of the main kitchen and associated catering areas. This includes:• Replacement of wall linings, flooring, and ceilings with hygienic finishes compliant with infection prevention requirements.• Installation of new catering equipment and associated services (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing).• Fire door replacements and compartmentation improvements in line with HTM 05-02.• Coordination between architectural, M&E, and structural packages to ensure compliance and sequencing in a live hospital environment.The Contractor will be required to re-provide essential catering functions within the existing kitchen footprint to maintain continuity of service throughout the works. This will involve careful sequencing and temporary reconfiguration of spaces to ensure that meal preparation and distribution can continue safely and efficiently. Temporary partitions, controlled access routes, and isolation measures will be implemented to segregate work areas from operational zones, minimising disruption and maintaining compliance with infection prevention and fire safety standards. Some works will be required to completed out of kitchen hours.A JCT Intermediate Building Contract Design, 2016 Edition, 2016 Edition will be utilised for this project.
