Abstract

Short description Climate Adaptation in Agriculture Stakeholder Engagement Study are to understand: • Changes in farm practice in the past (to be discussed with the successful bidder), due to changing weather patterns, as seen from farmer’s and industry perspective; • Farmer considerations for the future, including how far into the future farmers are planning and whether weather conditions are a factor; • What changes to farm practice farmers have made in response to changing climatic conditions and how do these changes, in practice, rank when compared to other factors which influence decision making for the future of farm businesses; • Farmer’s perspective on climate-related issues in their local area and whether there are regional climate issues that may affect farming resilience in the future (i.e. risks to water supply, lack of shelter, management of forestry and woodlands etc) • How is the farming industry predicting or thinking how climate change will impact Welsh agriculture, farm practices and or land use and do farmers factor in industry/academia analysis or not; • What are the impacts of these changes predicted for farm businesses, rural communities or nature.
