Construction of Welsh Timber Paviliion at Royal Welsh Showground

Description of the goods or services required

We are inviting expression of interest from contractors capable of providing the project management and construction of a 'Ty Unnos' timber frame paviliion at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells Powys. More information is in the attached EOI document, including an overview of the building. Full architectural designs will be provided to the selected participants.

We anticipate the successful bidder(s) will be a consortium/partnership/team of businesses that are looking to work together on an ongoing basis to help deliver the Welsh Government housing agenda.

We are seeking EOI’s from contractors with a proven track record of constructing similar buildings, a knowledge of working with Ty Unnos components would be highly beneficial, however a broad experience of timber frame construction is likely to be acceptable. The chosen contractor will also need to demonstrate compliance with, or that a member of their ‘Team’ can demonstrate compliance with, a recognised third party quality management system needed to manufacture Ty Unnos box beams. Coed Cymru can provide assistance in linking interested parties.

At this stage we are seeking to select an appropriate bidder(s) to deliver the work specified. We will then request a quotation against a detailed schedule of works. Should more than one bidder be successful via this EOI, we will select the best value offer subsequently received. Any bids received over £50,000 before Vat will however automatically fail.
