Abstract

Clinical Waste Management Service required for multiple NHS Site locations (hospitals, health centres and clinics) across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk (East of England) and the surrounding areas.

The service required will be compliant with the current EU Directives including the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) coding for waste categories and the revised HTM07-01: Safe Management of Healthcare Waste.

The service includes a waste segregation systems in-line with the requirements of HTM07-01 and will generate wastes for disposal within the following 6 categories:

Yellow sacks (EWC: 180103);

Orange sacks (EWC: 180103);

‘Tiger’ sacks (EWC: 180104);

Yellow-lidded sharps bins (EWC: 180103 / 09);

Purple-lidded sharps bins (EWC: 180103 / 08);

Blue Pharmaceutical bins (EWC: 180109).

Potential organisations include:

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust;

Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust;

All expression of interests to participate in this opportunity and all information regarding this opportunity will be through the Supplying to the NHS tendering portal which can be found at https://www.supplying2nhs.com/procontract/healthservice/cms.nsf/vHo me Page/fSection?OpenDocument (registration is free of charge)

Estimated Timescales:

Prior information notice call for competition — Closing 16:00 30.7.2015;

Pre Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) — August 2015;

Invitation To Tender (ITT) — September 2015;

Contract Start date — 1.12.2015.

The duration of the contract is initially 36 months (from the contract start date) with an option to extend for a further 12 months.

Pre Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ): It is envisaged that the top 10 highest ranked compliant scoring Pre Qualification Questionnaire submissions will be shortlisted for the Invitation To Tender Stage. This number will be confirmed when the Pre Qualification Questionnaire is issued.

Type of procedure: Restricted.

Invitation To Tender (ITT) Award criteria: The most economically advantageous tender as stated within the procurement documents, when issued.

An electronic auction will not be used.

The time limits for receipt of expressions of interest, via the Supplying to the NHS tendering portal (https://www.supplying2nhs.com/procontract/healthservice/c ms.nsf/vHomePage/fSection?OpenDocument) (registration is free of charge) are before the closing date of 16:00 on 30.7.2015.

The documents will not be available until after the closing date. The documents will be available when confirmation is sent to you for your continuing interest in the tender with a Pre Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ).
