II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The acquisition of a data lineage tool, supported by subject matter experts, will enable us to produce a map that will visualise where data is collected, stored, transformed, accessed, used, retain or deleted; it will provide an audit trail that tracks, monitors and documents data movements.
The tool will be used in combination with SME and applied across TPRs data estate. The tool will be connected to data sources, the data will not be moved. The tool will be used to identify the data within a field/table and track where it goes and any transformation – the output will provide a visualisation of the flows of data. Our internal data team will supplement the output of the tool with an inventory and glossary term for the data elements identified by the tool.
