Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council (the ‘Authority’) is seeking to award a contract for the receipt, treatment, recovery, recycling and disposal by the contractor of contract waste collected by the Authority or on behalf of the Authority and delivered to the contractor. This contract waste shall comprise of fractions from domestic and commercial collections, recycling centres and street cleansing (excluding gully waste). A minimum of 70 per cent of the total contract waste delivered by the Authority (and/or its contractors) in a NILAS Year (or part of a NILAS Year, in the case of the first and last years of the contract) is to be diverted from landfill and a minimum of 5 per cent recycling is to be extracted from the total contract waste.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement

The contract shall be entered into with the contractor for an initial period of 7 years (‘Initial Period’). The Authority retains the right, acting at its sole discretion, to extend the contract beyond the initial period on 3 subsequent occasions (for 12 months each time), giving a total possible contract duration of 10 years. The Authority also retains the right, acting at its sole discretion, to terminate the contract at the end of the initial period and at the end of each subsequent extension.
Please note that this is are procurement of the contract opportunity with OJEU Reference 2019/S 194-471706 which was terminated on 19 November (see OJEU Notice 2019/S 226-555437).
