To appoint contractors to develop ancillary components (including control valves, excess flow valves and alarms) necessary for the safe installation of hydrogen appliances and comparable on cost to the natural gas approved components used today including hydrogen alarms as part of the Hy4Heat programme’s WP4b.
Hy4Heat is a feasibility study to establish if it is technically possible, safe and convenient to replace natural gas (methane) with hydrogen in residential and commercial buildings and gas appliances.
There are 3 lots:
Lot 1: Dev’t of Piping, Pipe Fittings, Gas Valves, Gas Pressure Regulators and Emergency Control Valves that are Compatible and Safe for use with Hydrogen;
Lot 2: Dev’t of Gas Excess Flow Valves (EFV) Suitable for use in Low Pressure Hydrogen Supply Pipes Downstream of the Emergency Control Valve (ECV);
Lot 3: Dev’t of Domestic Alarms Compatible and Safe for Use with Hydrogen.
