The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (hereinafter referred to as UWTSD, or the University) has recently closed the creche facility and has taken the decision to undertake this procurement exercise.
Bids are invited from Crèche/ Day Care Providers to enter into a commercial lease for occupation of space at UWTSD Carmarthen Campus (Y Gamfa Wen). Bids will only be considered from Providers who can demonstrate adherence to the applicable statutory Childcare Regulations.
Bidders are required to consider the information included within this document and complete the necessary information requests for return within the timescales stated.
Essential requirements include:
The Crèche/Day Care provision and its associated services are to be delivered though the medium of Welsh. The creche will be accessible to all children irrespective as to whether they are able to speak Welsh.
The successful Provider will provide childcare facilities for University staff, students, tenants working from offices on the campus as well as those living in the local community.
The University would wish for the successful Provider to develop a close working relationship with Yr Athrofa and, in particular, those involved in Early Years Education and Care.
The University offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate study options in both English and Welsh, day or evening, in Early Years Education and Care. Undergraduate students have the opportunity to gain a license to practice by studying the BA (Hons) Early Years Education and Care: Early Years Practitioner Status which is recognised by Social Care Wales for professionals working in the Early Years Education and Care sector. Time is provided within the weekly timetable for students to attend early years settings for their placement experience.
