Conwy County Borough Council together with Cadwyn Clwyd seek to appoint a specialist consultant to work with and help volunteers who arrange Shows in the Hiraethog area.

The contract is for March to October 2021.

The Hiraethog Strategy was commissioned as a co-operative project by the Local Action Groups in Conwy County and Denbighshire, Conwy Cynhaliol and Cadwyn Clwyd. They were financed through Welsh Government’s Rural Communities – Welsh Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is financed by Welsh Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. Extra support and finance was given by Conwy County Borough Council and Denbighshire County Council.

The Hiraethog Development Strategy’s aims are to:

“Sustain and develop Hiraethog as a place where people want to and are able to live, work and play, utilising and sustaining the area’s unique natural environment, landscape, heritage and culture”.

The Hiraethog Rural Shows Project includes abut 20 shows so far. Shows in the Hiraethog area vary from agricultural shows, produce shows, village shows, and fun days in Conwy County and Denbighshire.

We are looking for a professional company to work closely with Hiraethog rural shows’ volunteers to offer leadership and advice within specific fields as they organise and hold these events.

The specific areas noted by rural shows’ volunteers during consultation were:

- Insurance

- Training

- Support tool kit

Essential requirements

- Experience and qualifications in this specialist field

- The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, through the medium of Welsh and English.

- Professional Insurance

- Experience of working on a similar project or experience of working with community groups
