Contract requirements

Researching and writing a report on joint ticketing for WalesOnRails (WoR) a Great Little Trains of Wales (GLToW) project.

The aim is to increase the understanding, possibilities, and benefits of public transport linked to joint ticketing at attractions. Exploring the Cockle Card concept. Interviewing and discussing the Cockle Card with key strategic partners.

A final report is required with recommendations to benefit tourism providers by increasing visitor numbers using public transport.

Key strategic partners are thought to be:

• Public transport providers; TfW, Avanti and Traws Cymru.

• Welsh National Parks; Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire Coast and Brecon Beacons.

• Large tourism and culture groups; Visit Wales, Visit Britain, Wales Tourism Alliance, Association of Leading Visitor Attractions, National Museums, Cadw and the National Trust.

• Regional tourism groups; North Wales Tourism, MWT Cymru, Southern Wales Tourism and South West Wales Tourism Associations.

• Tourist attraction groups; GLToW, Snowdonia 360, Anglesey Attractions, Tourism SwanseaBay, etc.

The final report will feature on the website https://walesonrails.co.uk/ and be shared with all participants and stakeholders.

Documents required in your tender quote

CV’s of practitioner/s to include details of membership of professional bodies with details of business insurance.

Total quantity or scope of tender

Budget

The total budget for the report is £5,000 ex VAT. This does not include graphics and translations costs which will be arranged by the project.

Timescales

The bulk of the research work is to be carried out in February with the report being finalised in March.

Contract commencement 10 February 2021.

Contract end 10 March 2021.

The project is to be completed and invoice by 12 March 2021.

Additional Information

We are keen to hear from suppliers who have a proven track record of working in tourism or public transport.

Project delivery

It is envisaged that this will be a desk-based research project. With discussion over the phone or using online meeting portals. GLToW has contacts that will be shared with the researcher/s. As the research develops the researcher/s are expected to grow the contacts and arrange interviews.

The contract costs are to include administration costs and any other expenses incurred in providing a professional service.

Environmental

GLToW is committed to delivery of the contract with the minimum adverse environmental impact. Public transport will be used wherever possible in line with government guidance.

Visual identity

All material will comply with Visit Wales brand guidelines. The project will arrange for the report to be laid out and graphic added, as required.

Welsh Language Requirements

All material will comply with the Welsh Language Standards Regulations. The project will arrange for the final report to be translation into Welsh.
