Description of the contract
Conwy County Borough Council intended to procure a Lead Consultant and required a multi-disciplinary design team to complete the full design of the works.
The team were to be engaged by the Lead Consultant and include but not limited to Architect, Civil and Structural Engineer, Building Services Engineers and Principal Designers.
The Lead Consultant was required to perform the Principal Designer Duties under the CDM Regulations 2015.
The project sought to re-develop Victoria Station, the starting station on the Great Orme Tramway.
The location was Victoria Station, Church Walks, Llandudno, North Wales, LL30 2NB
Great Orme Tramway is Britain’s only funicular, or cable hauled, tramway that travels on public roads. The tramway opened in 1902 and more information can be found on the website - Visitor Information, Great Orme Tramway
Victoria Station is located within, and on the northern boundary of the Llandudno Town Centre and Seafront Conservation Area
The project brief was to carry out the re-development of Victoria Station to provide the following;
o The safe and efficient operation of the system.
o Customer experience is important, hence a Station layout which maximises the ease with which passengers move through the system.
