Abstract

Henllan Bakery require an automated bulk flour delivery system to store brown and white flours and weigh individual batches of both flours, to be dispensed into mobile dough bowls. The system must comprise two bulk storage silos each with a working capacity of 40,000kgs, each silo dedicated to storing either brown or white flour, and ready to accept flours blown in from road going tankers. The silos must be erected onto a prepared foundation, each silo to be 3500mm diameter and no taller than 14077mm tall. The silo base will be Prepared by Henllan from spec of silo manufacture. The silos are to be designed and manufactured to the current DSEAR/Atex legislation earth bonded with lighting protection. Each silo to be manufactured from aluminium, skirt mounted with single lockable door access. Each silo is to be mounted of load cells for inventory control, complete with dehumidifiers and silo fill control panel. The silos are to be fitted with suitable discharge equipment to promote mass flow of flour, sieving at 1000 micron and magnetic detection. The flours are to be pneumatically conveyed through a range of stainless-steel pipe work from the silos into the bakery conveying rate 3000kg per hr and deliver weighed batches to the two mixing lines into one receiving vessel. The maximum quantity of flour is 112kgs and the minimum is 16kgs for each mixing line and there is a maximum frequency of 7 batches/hour for each mixing line. The weighed batches of flour are to be dispensed from the receiving vessel(s) into the existing spiral mixer dough bowls on demand and the system design must contain all dust generated during this process, the entire system design must be carried out in accordance with the current DSEAR/Atex legislation. This system requirement is to be fully turnkey and must encompass all electrical process control, equipment design, specification and supply, mechanical installation, and electrical installation to all standards applicable to the UK.
