II.2.4) Description of the procurement
University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust wish to refurbish and refit their laundry operation located at St Richard’s Hospital (SRH) in Chichester to be fully compliant with HTM 01-04 and BS EN 14065.<br/>The laundry is currently processing circa 100,000 pieces per week on a single shift over 5 days. The refurbished operation must be capable of producing 100,000+ pieces in a 35-hour shift in a productive and energy efficient manner. This operation will then expand to 200,000+ pieces capacity over 2 shifts.<br/>The target maximum pieces for this unit over 2 shifts is 225,000 pieces.<br/>It is the intention that the laundry operation will continue on-site for as much of the equipment changeover as possible so careful consideration must be given to the implementation plan to minimise the timeframe for service disruption.<br/>This tender will be a turnkey project with the main contractor being responsible for all machinery supply, mechanical and electrical services upgrades and all building work to provide a complete operational and efficient laundry.
