Bro Cors Caron SMS JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: WILDLIFE RANGER Location: Pontrhydfendigaid and surrounding area Salary: Dependent on experience Contract Type: Self-employed/Fixed term and seasonal – to be discussed Reporting to: Project facilitators Summary of Role: To assist the Bro Cors Caron SMS achieve its objectives within its Sustainable Management Scheme landscape scale conservation project. The post holder will be responsible for the management of legally controlling several predator species to protect vulnerable species of conservation concern. Tasks and responsibilities: To build a trusting, professional relationship with the landowners within the Bro Cors Caron SMS Group and assist them in their efforts to conserve vulnerable species of concern. The post holder will be fully competent in all aspects of targeted, legal, and humane predation control, following and working within all relevant best practice and codes of practice and legislation. Skills and knowledge: Ability to self-motivate and manage workload effectively and efficiently, with a proven track-record for the following lone working procedures. Must be able to communicate and maintain positive relationships with the landowners within the project. Must adhere to the legal, humane, targeted, efficient and effective predation control. Must have the relevant firearms and shotgun certificates and driving license. First aid certificates and relevant professional certificates are desirable Person specifications: Flexible and adaptable approach to work Honest, reliable and committed Friendly and approachable Pro-active and able to work outside in all weather conditions.
