The overarching aim of this research is to understand the impact of variable factors on the workload of elected members.

The specific objectives are to:

Provide quantitative and qualitative data into the impact of variable factors on the workload of elected members;

make recommendations on how changes to electoral wards can help support elected members e.g. smaller ward size, ensuring over-representation variance, multi-member wards etc
