Norfolk County Council have awarded a contract for the provision of Support Services to Young Carers and Families in Norfolk. The new contract is to commence on 1 April 2024. The Provider will be expected to deliver effective services supporting young carers aged 5-19 and some extended support for their families in order to identify, assess and reduce excessive and inappropriate caring responsibilities improving outcomes for young people. This includes the provision of skilled and qualified workers to deliver support in key areas such as education, family support, community provision, and world of work. This will operate as one contract with the flexibility to cover Norfolk countywide.

The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland). Proceedings must be brought within 30 days from the date of knowledge (the date on which the economic operator first knew or ought to have known that grounds for starting the proceedings had arisen) unless the Court considers that there is good reason for extending the period within which proceedings maybe brought, in which case the Court may extend that period up to a maximum of 3 months from the date of knowledge
