Abstract

Due to the tremendous increase of visitors to the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park in the past three years the National Park Authority is looking to contract in additional outdoor based meet and greet staff who will be based at various locations around the National Park at busy periods, but principally in the Waterfalls Area. The role will involve supporting National Park Authority staff in ensuring that visitors to our visitor hot spots have a warm welcome and are given the information and help they need to have an enjoyable and safe visit to the Brecon Beacons National Park. This support will include ensuring that car parks are managed efficiently, and that visitors have the appropriate information to enable them to safely enjoy their visit. You will also be expected to support the general appearance and presentation of the car parks, their surroundings and the wider footpath networks, which may include the collection and removal of litter. You should be ready and equipped to work in all weather conditions. There may also be other opportunities to support National Park staff complete basic path maintenance works, such as path repairs and vegetation control, but this will be discussed with you as and when required. This role would ideally suited to individuals who work freelance or independently in the outdoor activity sector, and have the experience and knowledge of working and communicating with individuals and groups in an outdoor environment.
