Abstract

Rhondda Cynon Taff CBC are looking to appoint one Contractor to provide Gulley/Drainage cleansing services throughout the Borough. The requirements will be on a daily basis throughout each of the contract years, with a programme of works identified in advance by the Council’s Engineers. The Councils network includes a vast number of drains, gullies, sewers, and culverts. The Council require two fully operated vehicles, both vehicles will be dedicated to the service requirements, both vehicles will be utilised to undertake scheduled cleansing of the authorities 90,000 gulley cleansing cycles. Services will include routine maintenance, reactive maintenance and availability for urgent/emergency works during times of flooding/storms. The Council does not envisage the main part of this contract being subcontracted. Due to the current financial constraints of Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC, there are no guaranteed volumes linked to this contract, but based on historical data and future planned works it is envisaged that between 30,000 – 70,000 gullys will be cleaned annually.
