The Council has recently agreed a major new investment programme in roads maintenance over the next 5-years which is resulting in a near 50% increase in the budget available to the service. While the core delivery model will not change the scale of the service and the nature of the supply chains that support it will undergo a major programme of growth and adaptation.
The Council are currently developing a new strategy which sets out a the approach to this, which ensures we have consistent, open and transparent processes which comply with the relevant procurement regulations.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Council has recently agreed a major new investment programme in roads maintenance over the next 5-years which is resulting in a near 50% increase in the budget available to the service. We are currently considering setting up framework agreements and other contracting opportunities for the period of four years for the following road and civil engineering related works and services:
- Carriageway Surfacing Contract (estimated contract value - 45.9m GBP)
- Minor Roads Patching Framework (estimated framework value - 4m GBP)
- Civil Engineering Framework (estimated framework value - 36.5m GBP)
- Operated Plant Framework (estimated framework value - 6m GBP)
- Road Maintenance Materials Framework (estimated framework value - 8m GBP)
- Traffic Management Framework (estimated framework value - 1.6m GBP)
- Lining and Road Markings Contract (estimated contract value - 402k GBP)
- Specialist Surface Treatments Contract (estimated contract value - 23m GBP)

We aim to publish/award the contracts and frameworks over the first half of 2024.
