II.1.4) Short description
The Contract will enable Cumberland Council to continue to meet its regulatory requirements in relation to the servicing and repair of lifts and hoists as specified in the Lifting Operations and Lowering Equipment Regulations (LOLER 1998) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 1998).
The Contractor must comply with the requirements of all current editions of regulatory and statutory Acts and Frameworks that cover the Services undertaken.
The Contractor shall be registered with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to receive and comply appropriately with Field Safety Notices and Medical Device Alerts.
The estimated total value of the contract for the two year initial term is £300,000 excluding VAT.
The estimated total value for the initial term plus the 12 month optional extension is £450000 excluding VAT. This 12 month optional extension is at the absolute discretion of the council.

Description of renewals:
The Council proposes to enter in to the contract for an initial period of 24 months with the successful provider. There is ONE optional extension available of up to 12 months. The optional extension is at the complete discretion of the Council. The end date of of 31st March 2027 includes the one optional extension. If the extension is not used the contract will end on 31st March 2026.
