Abstract

Please see attached documents for full specifications. Mynydd Iach Penderyn Partnership (MIPP) is inviting tenders from experienced fencing contractors to: 1.Remove and dispose of the existing fence (primarily post, netting and barbed wire). 2. Supply and erect approximately 6866 metres of stock-proof fencing infrastructure using Clipex fencing materials. 3. Supply and install 4 stand-alone stiles at designated locations. The work will take place on Manor Penderyn Common, a registered common and designated access land under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act, located within Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Livestock will be present on the common throughout the project period. Therefore, the existing fence must be removed and a new fence (including stiles) replaced in phased sections to prevent livestock straying into the neighbouring common. Clipex has been chosen by for its robustness and longevity and as a mitigation to the wildfire risk on site. Design specifications should be based upon requiring an all-steel stock fence fit for purpose to hold livestock (including sheep, cattle and ponies) without escape or injury. Clipex should be erected following manufacturers/distributors recommendations on specification. Stiles should be compliant with British Standard BS5709:2018 and be stand-alone structures. Contractors should be mindful of changeable and potentially challenging ground conditions and incorporate this into their work methodology and scheduling. Care must be taken to minimise ground damage when carrying out all work. Site visits are strongly encouraged to assess terrain and verify measurements; these may be conducted unaccompanied due to the site's open access status. We are seeking a contractor with the capability, experience, and infrastructure to complete the works within the required timeframe, with final completion by 30th June 2026. Applicants must demonstrate previous experience of similar fencing projects in agricultural settings, ideally with experience of using Clipex fencing. Knowledge of the local area would be advantageous.
