Urgent award notice under the Provider Selection Regime 2023 for the provision of 11+ Stammering Service in mid Essex area of NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (herein referred to as 'the Authority').
The award must be made urgently in order to provide continuity of care. There is significant risk that if this award was not made there would be an impact on this cohort of patients to their health and outcome of a good transition between key stages in a child's education and development. The reason for the urgency was not foreseeable by and is not attributable to the relevant authority and delaying the award to conduct a full application of the PSR would be likely to pose a risk to the patients.

Urgent award notice under the Provider Selection Regime 2023 for the provision of 11+ Stammering Service in mid Essex area of NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (herein referred to as 'the Authority').

Due to urgent circumstances, the Authority has awarded a 14 month contract to an existing provider, The Michael Palin Centre. The contract will commence on 1st February 2026 until 31st March 2027. The length of the contract would enable alignment with the current Community Collaborative block contract periods. A transformation programme is underway which would see this service be added to the current block contract as a substantive service.
THe value of the contract for the period stated above is £36,500.

This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply in this award.
