Abstract

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) is inviting expressions of interest from experienced and forward-thinking childcare providers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families. This is a unique opportunity to take on the management of an established Day care facility based on Prince Charles Hospital site in the Gurnos area of Merthyr Tydfil. The provider will take full responsibility for the management of the service including the employment of staff. Before launching a formal procurement process, we are keen to hear from providers who are interested in continuing the delivery of high-quality childcare provision and also have a long-term vision for the provision. It will be expected that the service will offer Childcare Offer, Flying Start and fee-paying placements and offer out-of-school provision, tailored to meet the changing needs of families. The current setting, Funtazia Day Nursery are Care Inspectorate for Wales (CIW) registered to provide full daycare for up to 48 children, aged 0-8 years. Whilst places must be prioritised for NHS employees, it will be expected that the service will be available to all families who wish to attend. The building is owned by CTMUHB and there will be a lease arrangement and charges in place with the provider. Some of the transferable fixtures, fittings and resources from the current provision will be available to the new provider at no cost and will remain assets of the Flying Start Programme. In addition, there may be opportunities for the incoming provider to apply for capital funding from MTCBC to support the purchase of any new equipment. This is a chance to become a key player in shaping the future of childcare in Merthyr Tydfil. Providers with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and community engagement are encouraged to express their interest.
