Abstract

Eastbourne Borough Council sought to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to provide Seafront Parades Maintenance Works.

The work will mainly consist of the general maintenance and repair of facilities and amenity structures located on Eastbourne seafront between Holywell and Langney Point. This will include painting of street furniture, painting railings, lamp columns, fixed wall benches and other items on the seafront promenades.

Also included are timber joinery repairs and renewal to some seating on the seafront and minor repairs to the parade surfaces. This could include taking up and relaying tar macadam areas, in situ concrete, precast slabs and block paviors. There is also a requirement for a full maintenance service of the seafront decorative lighting system.

Additional items not specifically listed may be required from time to time to be carried out on a dayworks basis, for example decoration of seafront shelters, localised repairs to stone walling etc.

The contract term is for 5 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years. The contract will be reviewed in April 2020.

A descriptive document explaining the scope, volume and type of works required is available separately from the South East Business Portal.
