South Hams District Council's Harbour Authority has awarded a Contract for the delivery of a night security patrol on the Salcombe-Kingsbridge estuary. This Contract is for the delivery of the Service on behalf of the Authority's customers. The Service comprises night-time boat patrols throughout the tidal waters of the estuary and vehicle/foot patrols over all of the appropriate areas to include the boat parks, slipways, landings, quaysides and some areas of foreshore. The Contract period is to be up to a term of five (5) years, with an option to extend for up to a further twelve (12) months.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The contractor's role is to undertake a minimum number of patrols each week, varied by month according to the seasonal nature of the site location. Risk assessments and method statement are required to be prepared by the contractor. The contractor is required to provide all of the necessary labour and materials at their own expense, although the Authority was prepared to make a patrol RIB and van available for the contractor to use. The contractor is to be suitably qualified and to ensure that all necessary insurance covers are to be in place for the duration of the agreement.
