Abstract

The service will support families to ensure that their children have good health and well-being throughout life. It brings together the functions of the former health visiting and school nursing services and the national child measurement programme with the ambition to provide a single integrated children and young people's public health service, which contributes to the delivery of the local healthy child programme.

The aim of the service is to ensure that all children, young people and their families have access to universal and specialist services, including safeguarding support and advice, in the right place, at the right time, by the right professional that will prevent or allow for the earliest identification of need and improve or protect their health and well-being.

The service will have a fixed contract value of 11 000 000 GBP per annum. The contract period is 3 years. The Council may extend the term of this contract by a further 2 periods of 2 years each (the Extension Period) equating to a potential total contract term of 7 years.

The services which this Procurement relates fall within Section 7 ‘Social and Other Specific Services’ of Public Contract Regulations 2015. Neither reference to ‘Open Procedure’ or the use of the term ‘Selection process’ nor any other indication shall be taken to mean that the Council held itself bound to regulations save those applicable to Section 7 provisions.
