Abstract

Tate’s digitised collection is stored on an existing infrastructure, which facilitates the management, preservation and access to these works. It is this storage which requires upgrading and replacing due to the age of the existing hardware. As such, there is a requirement for a storage hardware solution that will ensure the long-term preservation and integrity of these digital files. The solution must be scalable as Tate has a large volume of digital assets that will need to be migrated into this storage solution, as well as an increasing volume of digital assets being created and acquired. Any hardware solution must work with Tate’s existing software solutions. This High Value Digital Asset (HVDA) Storage forms the basis of this tender.
