Abstract

The authority requires a framework of five (5) legal advisors which the authority can call upon, on an ad-hoc basis to support and partner its’ in house legal team to deliver timely and accurate legal advice for major projects, and/or those projects or requirements that (in the view of the authority) are high profile, high risk, high profile and/or of strategic importance as described in the authority’s brief.

Indicative services include, by way of example:

(a) support with and for the authority new and existing corporate arms (including governance);

(b) support with the authority’s strategic procurement processes;

(c) support with the delivery of garden community projects;

(d) support in respect of director duties, conflict of interests;

(e) general public law matters;

(f) support for the authority’s statutory officers;

(g) illegal encampment and encroachment;

(h) employment matters;

(I) contentious and non-contentious high value high risk commercial contract support.

It should be noted that Tendring District Council, Maldon District Council and Chelmsford City Council have expressed an interest in calling off services from this framework.
