Abstract

The scope of the tender is to provide YW with satellite leakage detection services. This innovative technology is expected to assist in helping YW achieve our leakage targets, for the remainder of AMP6 and throughout AMP7.

We are looking for an innovative and collaborative supplier who can ensure that leakage detection technologies are continually developed and improved, supporting Yorkshire Water in their role of reducing leakage.

It is anticipated that bidders will provide Satellite technology that has the ability to scan for ground saturation and displays areas of potential leakage.

Satellite data collected will be collated, stored and made accessible to Yorkshire Water. The conditions of how this will be stored and accessed will be outlined in the tender documents.

As a minimum bidder must have satellite technology available that can:

— penetrate the ground

— find ground saturation

— differentiate the saturation between treated and untreated water.

As a minimum a bidder must have the ability to:

— provide the information back to YW over a web-based application,

— support YW and provide the appropriate training.

It is expected that a phase of this tender process will be a based on a live trial. It should be noted that this trial will be carried out, at cost to the bidder/s, as is all the bidder tender documentation.
