Abstract

This Brief encompasses three of the main interpretation projects for the entire scheme. The work will build on the previously developed Interpretation Plan and provide a clear route map for the delivery of the projects. As part of the island wide interpretation plan, this project will install interpretation infrastructure across the island to signpost and interpret key, significant and interesting features in the heritage landscape. By installing new furniture and replacing the old, we will be able to create a uniform and common approach that will reinforce our efforts to develop a strong local identity and sense of place based on local heritage, culture and language. All the interpretation will follow the common branding developed during the development phase. Our aim is to create a distinctly Welsh welcome to visitors and also raise the profile of local heritage amongst local people, creating a sense of place that reflects positive local perceptions. We will also integrate important messages e.g. Countryside & Maritime Codes in order to reduce clutter, and use signposting to relieve pressure on sensitive sites.
