Title
Replacement of existing heating & hot water systems.
|

Description of the goods or services required
The works shall consist of the replacement of the existing commercial communal boiler house with the installation of 2 number gas fired commercial boilers and 2 number gas fired commercial water heaters.
All existing pipework within the boiler house shall be replaced with new threaded steel for the heating and copper pipework for the domestic services.
The existing heating and hot water control panel shall be replaced.
The works will also include the replacement of the existing heating system within each of the 28 flats. this shall entail the removal of the existing heating pipework and radiators and the installation of the new dedicated pipework and radiators which shall link back to the existing communal heating mains with a 3 port commercial zone valve and associated room thermostat to provide independent temperature control to each flat. Minor modifications to the domestic services shall be carried out in each flat, but it is not intended to replace the existing domestic services within each flat.
All works shall commence in September 2021 and be completed by December 2021.

Additional Information
The works shall be carried out whilst the Sheltered Housing Complex is in full operation. The supply of heating and hot water must be maintained during the course of the contract with only a limited down time to enable heating and hot water connections to be carried out.
It is imperative that the contractor has a proven track record of working within a commercial environment and strictly carries out the work in accordance with COVID guidelines.
The tender will be based on the quality of the contractor and his/her ability to execute the works competently and in a safe manor and within the stipulated works program.
