Abstract

Scope Design and Install a Grid Tied 11.0 kWp Photovoltaic Array, 10kWh Battery Storage and 7.2 kW EV Charge Point for Mr. Julian Allen, Fox Hollows, Heol Spencer, Coity, Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan, CF35 6AT. The PV Inverter and Battery to be located within attached garage area. The new EV charge point will be located to side of the attached garage.. PV System Design. The PV system will incorporate the following points within the design. • Inverter must have minimum 12-year warranty • Type 2 surge protection built into the inverter. • Tier 1 Monocrystalline Modules with a Module Efficiency greater than 20% • Modules to have a 12 Year Warranty for Materials and Processing. • Modules to have 25-year Power output Warranty (Power Output Tolerance - ≤2% Year 1 & ≤0.55% years 2 to 25) • Safe Touch voltage technology built into the design to reduce DC voltage at loss of inverter power. • Optimisation to mitigate all types of module mismatch-loss from manufacturing tolerance to partial shading. • Optimisation to ensure maximum generation of the PV modules at panel level, minimum one for two panels. • Inverters and optimisers be manufactured from the same company • Modbus meter with CT’s at intake position to monitor Import / Export via online monitoring system. • For ease of maintenance, module level monitoring is to be included with connection to internet • By isolating the AC supply the DC circuit must reduce below DC touch safe level • Inverter selection must have built in arc fault detection according to UL1699B • Arc fault detection must reduce DC current and DC voltage. • In Roof mounting system. • G99 Application for connection. • MCS registration. Battery System Design The Battery Storage system will incorporate the following points within the design. • DC coupled to PV system. • Battery to be Floor or Wall Mounted. • Expandable up to 30kWh • 10 Year Product Warranty. • 5kW AC Discharge power. EV Charge Point The Electric Vehicle Charge point will incorporate the following in the design. • 1 x Single 7kW Type 2 Mode 3Charge Point. • 3 Charging Modes: ECO, ECO+ & FAST • Optimises Microgeneration Self-Consumption • Works with Solar PV • PIN Code lock Function. • Curtilage Power Management Function • Built in PEN Fault Detection (No Earth Rod Requirements) • Smart Charge Point Regulations 2021 Compliant. • Smart Charge Point Regulations 2021 Compliant. • OZEV approved. • Warranty – Minimum 3 years Electrical Infrastructure A new 4-way 100A Single Phase Consumer Unit will be required for the New Inverter, Charge Point and meter. The existing consumer unit has no spare capacity available. New consumer unit to be connected via 100A connection blocks via incoming supply tails. Access Access to be supplied via scaffold with edge protection to all areas of the roof where proposed PV array is to be installed. PV System Design.

Site Survey
As this is a domestic dwelling , to avoid disruption to the homeowners we are accepting quotations based on a desktop study using the current google earth picture of the site.

We are aware there may be site specific additional costs (that can only be quantified with a detailed site visit) which will be reviewed with the successful contractor prior to installation start.
