Schedule of Works
The Supplier will carry out the following tasks and adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Floral units and containers (see list at the end of this document for size and quantity) will be planted or updated with a vibrant Pollinator Friendly, (plants with flowers that provide nectar or pollen for a range of pollinating insects), display of flowers.
2. Floral units and containers to be planted or updated with a good height and colourful display of plants.
3. The balance of the planting is to strongly favour flowering display over foliage.
4. There will be minimum use of trailing plants, in planters, to avoid ingress into footways.
5. There must be a co-ordinated planting scheme to ensure an aesthetically pleasing overall effect.
6. There must be healthy, vibrant plants, able to cope with the problems associated with the location and environment.
7. All baskets and containers will need to be ready for the summer display in Monmouth Town centre during the week commencing first week in June, the autumn display, the first week in October and the early spring display in March.
8. The display is to last throughout the year using local / indigenous pollinator friendly plants where possible, (if this is not possible, prior agreement must be sought with the Town Clerk).
9. Install any new containers, baskets or planters in the correct locations as agreed with Monmouth Town Council.
10. New installations must take no more than 5 working days.
11. Sustainable peat free compost will be required.
12. There must be good and regular liaison with Monmouth Town Council regarding the erection and placement of the units and containers as appropriate.
13. Plants damaged by vandalism, or are stolen dead or ailing must be replaced within 5 working days of notification or identification.
14. Any persistent problems must be quickly identified and communicated to the Council. The acquisition of suitable plants to complete the scheme should be sourced, if possible, from a local supplier and be pollinator friendly.
15. Displays will be fertilised and maintained on a regular basis as necessary. This will include deadheading, litter removal, grass edging and strimming around raised beds as required.
16. Adequate drainage for planters must be maintained.
17. Infected plants must be treated as necessary.
18. The planters must be cleaned on a regular basis and any removed for cleaning must be returned promptly to its location and Monmouth Town Council notified prior to its removal.
19. If removal of planters is required, these will be removed safely and any organic material to be disposed of in line with the regulations.
20. The contractor shall investigate, validate and respond to complaints and compliments in an efficient and speedy manner.
21. The Contractor shall provide Monmouth Town Council with a monthly report of work carried out, supported by evidence.
22. If MTC requires additional planters or displays during the contract term, MTC will negotiate costs with the Contractor.

(It should be noted that these are wooden structures that may be temporary depending on any further road changes in Monmouth Town Centre, and your pricing should reflect separate costings, should these be removed, moved, or added to in the future).
