The park is located 2.5km from Hamilton. The main entrance to the park is within the village of Ferniegair on the A72 Hamilton, Larkhall / Lanark, Clyde Valley tourist route and is a short drive from the M74 (Junction 7).

The main entrance to the park is off Strathaven Road (A726).

Working closely with the Council, the successful consultant will undertake an ambitious, visionary master planning exercise to transform access and connectivity with surrounding communities, extend dwell time, develop facilities, and most importantly enhance the visitor experience, create more inclusive use, sustainable management and promote our Country Parks as significant community assets.

This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with the Council as we look to establish Chatelherault and Calderglen Country Parks as regional destinations offering vibrant and welcoming facilities which are linked to, and contribute towards, the regeneration of surrounding communities.

South Lanarkshire Council anticipates appointing a Project Manager led multidisciplinary design team in order to achieve the key outputs noted below:

- Country Parks Masterplan identifying investment opportunities and priorities supported by stakeholder consultation.
