Abstract

Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management Limited (NHFML) seeks to appoint a Laundry equipment provider to design, supply, install, test and commission laundry equipment and provide associated design assistance in respect of its new laundry facility to be located at Northumbria Healthcare Innovation and Manufacturing Hub, Seaton Delaval, Northumberland to be fully compliant with HTM 01-04 and BS EN 14065.

Bidders will be required to provide designs and costs for two options:

Option A

A laundry capable of processing circa 30,000,000 pieces per annum in a 60 hours week with an average piece weight of 0.49kg in a productive and energy efficient manner and;

Option B

A laundry capable of processing circa 15,000,000 pieces per annum in a 60 hours week with an average piece weight of 0.49kg in a productive and energy efficient manner.

As well as designing the equipment layout and supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning the equipment the successful bidder will be required to assist and advise the Clients internal design team to take the design of the facility from RIBA stage 2/3 to RIBA stage 4 (mechanical and electrical services upgrades and all building work to provide a complete operational and efficient laundry).
