Abstract

Leicester City Council seeks to appoint a contractor via a design and build contract to undertake demolition of existing buildings (including retail units, ancillary buildings, outdoor leisure facilities and boundary treatments), and construct 50 exemplar residential dwellings (20x houses, 24x flats); convert a locally listed building to 6 supported living flats (Class C3); and create a public open space. Carry out extension and external alterations to existing of shops and flats; create new access road and associated highways infrastructure, parking, landscaping, drainage, boundary treatments and external lighting. The project is part-funded by the government’s One Public Estate Brownfield Land Release fund.

Please note this is not a call for competition. An ITT is being prepared and will be available w/c 22 July 2024. Anticipated tender advert period will be 8 weeks.

We are intending on utilising common assessment standard (CAS) document implemented by PPN03/24 (https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/6603fef791a320001182b066/PPN_03_24_Standard_Selection_Questionnaire_2024_Update.pdf)

II.2.4) Description of the procurement

Leicester City Council are seeking a main contractor via a design and build contract to undertake works on the exemplar scheme at Stocking Farm. The scheme will deliver 50 new council homes, a new community open space, a new highway and associated items such as parking, boundary treatments, landscaping, drainage and external lighting. Demolition works are required. A site visit during the tender period is strongly recommended as there are live elements to the site which require minimum disruption throughout. The scheme has high sustainability aspirations.
