This Panel and the Dip have been a major step in achieving and maintaining the robust evidence base across a number of issues that is required to a develop better understanding of the attitudes and practices of construction employers. It is anticipated that the Panel and Quarterly Dip combined will continue to fulfil that purpose.
An overriding aim of this research remains to gain greater insight into the types and sources of learning and training used by employers, and their attitudes and motivations towards learning and training.
This project will continue to play a crucial role in informing policy planning by CITB and its partners. The results will also support the delivery of CITB’s strategies and its 3-year Strategic Plan.
As with the previous Panels and Quarterly Dips, this programme of research will help inform the further development of policy decisions, funding strategies, qualifications development and corporate communications to ensure that the needs of industry are understood and that CITB’s activities remain relevant to the sector. The results will also be used to support discussions with Government Departments, Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs), Local Authorities, and funding bodies to invest in training and skills development for this sector.
