Engagement process description
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) is inviting expressions of interest for an upcoming tender for WYFRS4043 - Water Rescue PPE and Associated Equipment.
WYFRS is looking to assess the market's interest and its ability to bid for and deliver this upcoming contract. A high-level overview of the key requirements is outlined below, the full details will be provided in the tender documentation:
WYFRS is seeking qualified suppliers for the provision of Water Rescue PPE, a repair and maintenance service and associated products such as rescue poles, lifejackets and related equipment.
The tender will be structured into 10 Lots comprising of;
• Lot 1 – Drysuit – MOD2 (Level 1)
• Lot 2 – Drysuit – MOD 3 (Level 2) Swift Water Rescue Technician
• Lot 3 – Undersuits
• Lot 4 – Thermal Base Layer
• Lot 5 – Thermal Socks
• Lot 6 – Water Rescue Boots
• Lot 7 – Lifejackets
• Lot 8 – Personal Flotation Devices/Buoyancy Aids
• Lot 9 – Water Rescue Gloves
• Lot 10 – Water Rescue/Wading Poles
The tender is expected to be issued around the end of August / Beginning of September 2025, with a contract start date approximately late November 2025. The contract term will last a minimum of 3 years, with options to extend for 2 x 1-year periods, bringing the total duration to a maximum of 5 years. The estimated cost for the full contract term is between £200,000 and £300,000.
