Abstract

Groundwork North Wales (GWNW) are about to embark on the delivery phase of their National Lottery Heritage Fund project. Key to ensuring the project’s success, but also the future sustainability of the site, Groundwork North Wales (GWNW) is seeking an experienced and qualified Project Manager to lead the delivery phase capital works. The Project Manager will support the client in the delivery of RIBA stages 4-7, communicate with the design team, help procure contractors and assist in reporting to project funders. SCOPE OF WORKS Requirements: Capital works Project Management: • Manage the Clywedog Valley National Lottery Heritage Fund Delivery Phase processes for capital works. In relation to; Minera Quarry Minera Lead Mines Nant Mill Bersham Iron Works • Establish a final programme for the Delivery Phase capital works, highlighting project deliverables, key milestones and sign-off points. • Manage risks faced by the project, keeping an updated risk register and liaising with the wider team to mitigate the effects of potential challenges throughout. • Produce regular progress reports for Groundwork North Wales Coordination of the Capital Project Team • Support the procurement of the main contractor and the appointment of further professionals to the capital works Project Team (following GWNW’s procurement policy and following National Lottery Heritage Fund rules). • Support the appointed Design Team to deliver capital works to end of RIBA stage 7. • Coordinate regular project meetings to include internal and external Project Team members. • Ensure an effective communication strategy is adopted throughout so that all project team members have the appropriate information and can meet key project milestones. Funder support: • Assist in the continued engagement of stakeholders, The National Lottery Heritage Fund and project partners. • Support any additional funding applications that are required. • Support the client in reporting to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other funders. Delivery Stage: • Manage the procurement of all capital works consultants and contractors for the delivery phase.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

All those wishing to respond to the brief are required to submit a response as outlined below. The response should cover the following :

• Overview of your team including CV’s. It should be clear who the lead contacts will be and the resource allocation for the project. Please note CV’s can be included as part of the appendices and will not contribute to the final page count.

• Experience. Your response should outline your teams experience in this area including similar sites and other National Lottery Heritage Fund projects.

• Methodology. Outline how you will work with the team and GWNW. This should also include a programme detailing how you meet key milestones throughout the delivery phase.

• Fee proposal and confirmation of capacity (max. 1 page): Provide a fixed-price quote including a cost breakdown, indication of any additional expenses, and whether you are VAT-registered. Confirm your availability to undertake the work within the timeline from Sept 2026.
