The requirement is for a therapeutic intervention service for children and young people, between the ages of 5 - 14 years.
In line with the principles of GIRFEC , the Council is committed to promoting, supporting and nurturing children and young people’s mental health and well-being. The Council also has a commitment to trauma responsive approaches and practice. The service provider must be able to demonstrate their own commitment to trauma informed practice and GIRFEC principles. The Service will complement existing supports and will be one of many interventions available to support children and young people.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Council is seeking to appoint an external Service Provider that is experienced and appropriately qualified to deliver a therapeutic intervention service for children and young people aged 5-14.
The Service Provider will provide 1:1 therapeutic interventions for children and young people, as well as supporting the families and adults around those children to better meet their emotional needs. The model of service delivery will sit within a therapeutic and trauma informed framework that draws upon resilience and strength-based methodologies to provide children and young people with an opportunity to explore and process their difficulties within the context of a trusting and supportive relationship and to find their own ways of addressing the issues.
Service delivery to primary aged children will incorporate play or art-based methods and may include supporting parents/carers to take into account the age and developmental stage of the child.

Art Therapists: must be registered members of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).
Play Therapists: must be registered with the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT) or PTUK.
All staff involved in the delivery of the Services must have obtained the relevant and appropriate Scottish Disclosure, PVG (The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007) clearance and/or updated PVG.
