Abstract

The Welsh Government (the Employer) is seeking to appoint a Contractor to install new revetment, and associated construction works at SA1, Swansea. The scheme to date has been developed to detailed design stage. Services to be provided by the Contractor shall include, but not be limited to, the following: • Traffic Management • Construction of the revetment works • Construction of associated drainage • Accommodation works • Procurement and payment of any licenses/permissions to carry out the works. A FRAP License • and Planning Permission are in Place. • Public and key stakeholder liaison during construction; • Maintain the works for the duration of the defects period. The Welsh Government (the Employer) has appointed Shoreline Management Wales (SMW) to discharge the roles of Project Manager and Supervisor. Shoreline Management Wales (SMW) is also appointed as Principal Designer for this project as defined by the CDM Regulations 2015. The partnering arrangement will not alter legal relationships between the parties to the Contract nor relieve any party of its obligations under the Contract. In the spirit of partnering, the Contractor is encouraged to notify the Employer of any errors, omissions or areas of doubt it identifies during the tender period through the prescribed tender query process and to work proactively with the Employer and Project Manager throughout the contract to deliver the Works. The Contractor shall be responsible for the construction of the works which shall comply with: • Relevant EC and UK Legislation • Relevant British Standards, European Standards, guidance and advice notes, memorandum, • codes of practice, CIRIA publications • Site Waste Management Regulations 2008 • The Scope and Site Information for the works as set out in the contract documents.
