O.P. Chocolate Limited is seeking competitive tenders for the supply, installation and commissioning of new toffee manufacturing and twist wrapping equipment at its confectionery manufacturing facility in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales.

The procurement forms part of a proposed capital investment programme intended to improve manufacturing productivity, increase production capacity, enhance product quality, reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.

The successful supplier will be expected to provide equipment manufacture or supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, operator training and associated documentation. Suppliers should demonstrate relevant experience in supplying equipment for the food and confectionery manufacturing sector.

Suppliers should provide references for similar projects undertaken within the food manufacturing sector.

Equipment supplied must comply with all relevant UK legislation, CE/UKCA requirements where applicable, and current food safety standards.

This procurement is being undertaken to support a proposed investment under the Welsh Government Food Business Accelerator Scheme (FBAS). The project is subject to funding approval. O.P. Chocolate Limited reserves the right not to award a contract should funding not be secured.

Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

The successful supplier will be encouraged, where reasonably practicable, to support community benefits through the delivery of the contract. This may include providing local employment opportunities during installation and commissioning, engaging local subcontractors and suppliers where appropriate, minimising environmental impacts, reducing waste and packaging, and providing knowledge transfer and training for O.P. Chocolate Limited employees to support the effective operation and maintenance of the equipment.
