Description of how these justifications apply

Cardiff University is the only appropriate provider of the required Master of Public Health (MPH) qualification for Public Health Specialty Training Scheme trainees based in South Wales. The qualification is a mandatory component of specialty training and is required for trainees to meet curriculum requirements and achieve a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). No suitable alternative provider has been identified that can meet the educational, professional and geographical requirements of this specific training provision. The direct award is therefore justified due to the absence of competition for technical reasons.
